Western medicine considers an allergy to be an immune system disorder which causes the body negatively respond to normally harmless substances known as allergens, such as pollens, foods, and pet dander.
From an Eastern holistic medical perspective, allergies are seen as a result of electromagnetic energy imbalances in the body. Exposure to allergens lead to blockages in energy pathways known as meridians. These blockages interfere with the nervous system and affects how certain body processes are regulated, causing allergic reactions.

What is an allergy?

What are other symptoms related to allergies that I should be aware of?

Allergies can affect us on many different levels, including our physical and emotional health. An undiagnosed or undetected allergic condition can cause symptoms that mimic other conditions, such as respiratory illnesses, gastrointestinal issues, headaches, muscle aches, and even depression, just to name a few. Because it is possible that some health conditions may be a result of underlying allergies, it is recommended that you test for them.

What is NAET®?

Developed by Dr. Devi S. Nambudripad, Nambudripad Allergy Elimination Techniques (NAET®) is a holistic treatment for allergies that is natural, painless, and non-invasive to the body.  Through a combination of selective electromagnetic energy balancing, testing and treatment procedures from acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological disciplines of medicine, NAET® can help to alleviate and desensitize allergies without the use of drugs.

How does NAET® work?

NAET® involves using standard medical testing procedures, computerized testing, and kinesiological muscle response testing to detect energy blockages in meridians caused by allergens. Allergens are then cleared one at a time through a combination of acupuncture/acupressure, allopathy, chiropractic, nutritional, and kinesiological treatment procedures. The substance must be completely avoided for 25 hours following your treatment to be effective.

Who can be treated with NAET®?

NAET® is safe and effective for everyone, including pregnant women, infants, children, the elderly, and people with special health care needs.

How do you diagnose specific allergens that I may be allergic to?

We use Muscle Response Testing (MRT®), also known as applied kinesiology, to detect for allergies. MRT® is a method used by acupuncturists, chiropractors, and alternative physicians to test muscle reactions when your body is exposed to certain toxins and allergens. It is a painless and non-invasive procedure that helps identify causes for imbalance between your body's major muscles and organs.

How many treatments are needed to overcome my allergy?

The frequency and number of treatments needed will depend on the amount of allergens you have, the severity of your symptoms, and the condition of your overall health. After your first consultation and exam, Dr. Chau will let you know how many visits will be necessary to treat your allergy.

When will I begin to see results?

The length of the treatment program varies from one individual to another, depending on the number of allergies a patient has, as well as the severity of the allergy. Depending on these factors, it may take anywhere from as 6 to 10 visits to note significant results. Typically, one allergen, or one group of closely related allergens, is identified and treated per office visit.

If I complete the necessary NAET® treatments, will I be free of my allergies?

80 - 90% of the patients treated thus far by NAET® have experienced complete relief from their allergic symptoms, with most reporting that exposure to previous allergens no longer cause adverse reactions. If your NAET® treatment plan is followed properly, the chance of your allergy returning is very unlikely.

Will my medical insurance pay for NAET® treatments?

At this time insurance companies still consider this to be an alternative procedure and not a customary one.   However, most “Flexible Spending Accounts” are covering NAET treatment.   For your consideration, we do offer discounted treatment packages with follow-up visits.  Please call us if you’d like to learn more.
